Miss Amy is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and holds a Bachelor of Dance from the Melbourne University.
In her younger years she was recognised as an accomplished singer and dancer being selected for the NSW Talent Development Project and featured performer in the NSW Southern Stars and NSW Schools Spectacular. Her outstanding eisteddfod success stretched to winning Championships and Scholarships in four Australian cities. Later, she went on to become a top 100 finalist in Australia’s So You think You Can Dance and two time finalist in the prestigious Victorian Musical Theatre Guild Awards for her role of Victoria in Cats.
Some of her overseas experience includes dancing in Italy and New York with the Ajkun Ballet Theatre and entertaining while cruising onboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas as a professional dancer. Since opening her own dance school, Miss Amy has choreographed and conducted overseas dance tours with her students performing guest showcases onboard Radiance & Explorer of the Seas.
Miss Amy is an Associate Teacher with the Australian Teachers of Dancing Ltd and holds a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. As Principal of DanceWorks she inspires students to accept challenges and strive to reach their full potential. Her goal is to encourage fun through learning, bring budding dancers together to forge lasting friendships and improve their technical skills. She offers performance opportunities, competition and preparation for examinations in Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. As a proud teacher she has celebrated with dedicated students following in her footsteps as she mentors them to reach their own goals.
Nicole Rodgers – Dance Teacher

Miss Nicole joined the DanceWorks faculty after returning to Australia from a five-year teaching contract with the International School System in Cairo, Egypt and Thailand.
As a teenager Miss Nicole was a student of the Wollongong Performing Arts High School, adding HCS dance and drama to her already achievements in extracurricular Ballet, Tap, Jazz Contemporary and Lyrical.
After graduating from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance)/ Bachelor of Education she worked within primary schools in Sydney teaching their dance program. This gave her the incentive to develop her own educational movement programme, which she offered and successfully taught in Day Care Centres and Kindergartens in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.
DanceWorks youngest students have been receiving the benefits of Miss Nicole’s unique Early Childhood Movement and Dance Programme for the past five years. She offers our students the best possible foundation for their future years of dance training and we are exceptionally lucky to have her here in Nowra.
Shannon Standen – Dance Teacher

Miss Shannon is a Registered Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) and member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). While studying for her Master of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra ACT, she six times won the Deans excellence award for Academic Achievement.
She is also a qualified Pilates Matt Instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute and Qualified Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet teacher. She has eight years of experience in preparing and entering students for RAD examinations, both grades and vocational levels from tiny tots to Advanced 2 Ballet. As the fundamental principles and technique that form both excellent Ballet Syllabi is universal, we look forward to Miss Shannon sharing her vast her dance teaching experience with us.
In addition to over ten years of experience in teaching Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap and Cheerleading for Performance Teams and Soloists, her background in physiotherapy, gives her a particular interest in assessing and correcting dance biomechanics including pre-pointe assessments and dance injury prevention.
Miss Shannon holds a Diploma of Arts in Musical Theatre and Commercial Dance from the Australian Dance Performance Institute, Brisbane and while training in Queensland she was employed as a Professional Commercial Dancer.
